I should be in Houston tonight. Because tonight, my friend Karen will be launching (and reading from) her beautiful book The Beauty of Different. So if you are anywhere near Houston this evening (Thursday, Dec. 2), you should go to the beautiful Brazos Bookstore at 7 p.m. It is going to be amazing.

I must admit, this is one of those days that I’m not completely thrilled to be sitting feverish in my Austinish living room, wearing pajamas. Because I should be celebrating Karen’s special day, from up close. In person. At the beautiful Brazos Book Store.
Instead, I will be channeling all my “Karen’s Special Day!” energy, and re-focusing it in San Antonio a week from today. That’s right. If you’re anywhere near Central to South Texas, you should give some serious thought about getting yourself to San Antonio next Thursday, December 9.
Because Maile and Jenny and I are giving Karen a party. And you’re invited!
