Princess Bleach

I’ve never colored my hair. It’s not that I’m opposed to this action, it’s just never been on my list, for a variety reasons. The hassle, the fear, the weird-super-dark natural color I’ve had since birth. It just always seemed that making my head lighter would involve lots of steps and maintenance. And I don’t like to step or maintain. Plus, jeez, all the unnecessary time and money!

That said, it might be time to invest some money. Because we might have crossed over into the necessary.

Yeah.

So for the first time ever, I’m thinking about color and its many possibilities. If I had the ability to pick any other color, would I? Which one? And what does that say about me as a citizen of the world? These are the burning questions I don’t really want to answer, since I’m afraid my answer might be the same. And what does THAT say? Even though I can’t imagine myself with any other tint, it just seems like a heck of a lot of work and expense to keep the same color you have. Plus, you know. Boring.

For Halloween this last weekend, I was Princess Peach to Harry’s and James’ Mario and Luigi. And to be authentically platinum princessey, I borrowed one of Jenny’s wigs. So basically, I looked like I was going as The Bloggess playing dress up in odd pink clothes. Not a good look. And yikes, the eyebrows.

I’m thinking blonde is out of the running.

I love that you're doing Nablopomo! I can't wait to read. Also? Red.

I like pink. Do pink. I don't see any reason to stick to the traditional colors – that's so done. Of course, I think your natural color is beyond cool. It's my dream color – if there was any way to get my hair that color OR it would look good on me. Sigh. The grass is always greener, isn't it?

I hope you'll keep your color close to what it is – so striking. I have dark hair that began graying when I was 21. On my last go-round with highlights things got scary light, and I just found someone who put them back to normal. I recommend avoiding that if at all possible. It always SEEMS like a good idea at the time, the lightening, but the maintenance, ugh. That said, if you work with someone who knows what they're doing with red, that can be a lot of fun. I've done it before, and I'd go back, definitely. :)
