My grandfather always planted pumpkins on the 4th of July. But, to me, that seemed like a weird mixture of metaphors. Because it’s hard to think about the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown when there are flags to be flown and watermelon seeds to spit. I like to enjoy my red white and blue in all it’s 104 degree glory, and wait a couple of days to think about the orange October harvest…But you know, it’s coming. So today, in the midst of our swimming pool floaty toy frenzy of sunscreen, we started looking ahead. We are planting seeds for the Fall.
