Unlike my down-the-street neighbors, who thought it fitting to put up their Decorated Tree after Labor Day (Keep Austin Weird!), I have a hard time celebrating Christmas (because we celebrate Christmas) before December 1. It just feels wrong.
Even when it’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday and WillTheSalesNeverEnd Tuesday, I don’t know…Until it’s actually December 1 Wednesday, I can’t start the Holiday(s) Season. Am I alone in this? Probably. But I’m not quite ready to switch from oranges to reds right now.
And I’m planning to enjoy that moment between Giving Thanks and Digging Into the Pie for as long as possible.
