Recently I was asked by the good people of the Parent Bloggers Network to check out a new book that’s hitting bookstores everywhere. So I did. And I found that
Good Kids Bad Habits by Jennifer Trachtenberg, M.D. gives parents a plethora of information. And then she gives even more information. And then some more. And, of course, we’re all about the giving around here. And so you know what that means. Don’t you?

So where's the edition for 27 year olds? I could really use some help here, and I'm no where near having a kid. Nice review.
That seems like something good to have around. Do they have one for husbands?
I don't know if I could win for leaving a snarky comment, but I can't resist. Isn't the universal sign for choking putting your hands around your neck, sticking your tongue out and gasping for air?But seriously, I do enjoy your book reviews. And I'm with kristin.
I'm not a mommy yet (the KidZilla is due end of June-ish)but this looks like a great book. Certainly the next step after all the pregnancy "dos and don'ts" guides I've been digesting. Enjoyed the review!!
Great review. I love reference books — quick easy answers to hard complicated questions. What could be better?!Hi Hurricane!
Thanks for the review. I will definitely have to check this book out, especially if I win it!
Bix is only two and a half weeks old, but at the rate my free time has disappeared I should probably start reading the book now.She is already anxious to meet the Hurricane…hope to see y'all soon.oh, and happy belated Birthday to you!
A drawing for which I would love to be eligible! Of course, I don't have children…but, like GcQ, I am a sucker for a test!
I'm totally interested in that book.
I'm all about having tons of reference books. They make me look smart.
I was just wondering about selenium myself! The Mighty Mango Naked juice I just bought has 70% of the daily recommended amount of selenium, so it must be good, right? I'm not even kidding, it's one of the reasons I bought it, even though I don't know what it is either.Hurricane, I have four children and they should not be left unattended with such an uninformed mother!
Looks like a great book. Thanks for the review!
I would totally like to have this book – would be a big help around my household.
It seems like it'd be a good thing to have around.
Looks like a good reference book. Thanks for the share!
I'm sorry – 17-month-olds should know the international sign for choking? Seriously? I don't even know the international sign for choking… we're in bad shape around here…
Thanks so much for the taking the time to read the book and write such a comprehensive review – we really appreciate it!Just wanted to share that any interested readers (who don't win the giveaway, of course!) can check out a 'Preview' of "Good Kids, Bad Habits" which includes the Table of Contents and Chapter Two (with Nutrition Charts) by Clicking Here (pdf)or sending me an email at dbaldwin at realageinc dot com. Thanks again!-DanielleReal Age Parenting Center
Mark – you and me both, my friend! I wish I'd had this for my own childhood… maybe my gluttonous relationship with anything fried would have involved less drama (and cellulite)!Kristin – I'll pitch the husband guide for our next release (look for your name in the credits
.SuperZoe – (just in case you don't win – the test is online. Enjoy!
Everyone else – good luck on the contest and thanks for checking out the book.-Danielle
Thanks for the fabulous review, my friend. And happy belated birthday! Hey, you're older than me – I like you even better now!
Impressive review. I'm all for kids not choking.
You might also like 'The Mommy Manual' by Barbara Curtis. I haven't finished it yet but so far I have picked up a lot of tips from Barb.
I probably should not win as I am not a Mum and have no kids to put sunscreen on…But, it would be funny if Hurricane drew me out yes? But I have NIECES!
I am with you Lala – it's all about the NIECES!
Looks like an interesting read. I may check that one out!
OK I've got to get better because I swear I left a comment yesterday. Anyway, great review. I can't wait to see where I went wrong with my kids, although I suspect it started at conception. Happy B-day! My 36th is next month.
i'd love a book con queso
A Book con Queso has been talked about for ages! I would love one, also! It would have to have lots of quizzes…GcQ, you could do it!
I could use a book like this written about husbands. Great book review.
It is amazing how much we learned when we were doing the adoption stuff. They made us do/learn stuff that we NEVER would have done for our bio kids…. things like making sure our water heater is turned down and knowing CPR and having a carbon monoxide alarm and blah, blah, blah. Now we only do that stuff when the social worker is coming over (seriously, who DOESN"T keep their dishwasher liquid below the sink? We don't when the SW is coming over or she will take our kids away….)…..This sounds like it has good advice for all parents but has the potential up the guilt factor…
Lindsey, you totally won. Well done, you.
