Thank you times eleventy billion for not making me do a captcha, log in or give up my firstborn for leaving a comment. I understand their value, but...well, no, I really don't. Much appreciated! :)

Yeah, that was pretty great. :) It's after the holidays now, but this kinda helped with the post-holiday doldrums. Thanks!

Awesome. I don't typically respond to blog posts, but thought Henry would enjoy this project. A good friend of mine teaches middle school in Newtown, CT and her husband is a first responder. She sent out this request last week:

Looking for a simple way to help? “Let’s Give Sandy Hook School a Winter Wonderland”
Snowflake Drive – Like our children, no two snowflakes are alike. We invite you to create snowflakes to decorate Sandy Hook School’s new home. Be creative! All colors and designs are welcome. We know that children will enjoy creating art that can adorn the walls of SHS’s new elementary school. CT PTSA has been contacted from schools across the state and this is a project we can all share. “Snowflake” drop boxes will be available at all schools or can be mailed to: Connecticut PTSA, 60 Connolly Parkway, Building 12, Suite 103, Hamden, CT 06514, by January 12, 2013.

The art teacher at my daughter's school had all of her classes make snowflakes this week. :)

Laura, you are one of those people with a gift that helps others even when you are doing things like sleeping. This made me cry and feel thankful that I am lucky enough to know you. Please tell Harry he is magic.

Totally inspiring and brought a tear to my eye. Who would want to hurt kids? I wish more people thought that way - then maybe we wouldn't need shelters for abused children.

What an amazing experience and opportunity for helping others! I struggled a bit about how to discuss CT with my seven-year-old as I didn't know what would happen when he went back to school this past Monday. Benji came to his conclusion that someone would have to be very very sick with a "germ in his brain" to hurt a child. Broke my heart that he had to find what he thought was a rational reason to process the news. Do tell Harry that there are many ways to give back big and small. He can bump around on our website when he is ready to pass along some of the stuffed friends that he might not cuddle anymore or books that he has outgrown! We make sure his generosity lands in the arms of a kiddo as well. Happy Holidays Mayes Family!
