- Texas Water Safari.
This is my parents’ backyard. And this was my parents’ backyard the other day…filled with canoers rowing through on the world’s toughest canoe race. And whenever this race happens, once a year, this is what my family does. We sit on the dock and root for the rowers. I missed this year because I was in [...]
- Summer of the Spritzer
Alright, we’re declaring it. It’s the Summer of the Spritzer, y’all. Get ready… and go. Last year was the Summer of the Shandy, and that was awesome, but this year we’re swapping out the beer for wine to shake things up a little. Obviously, all the cool kids are doing it, so there’s that. But more [...]

- Summer To Do Lists
Image source We are looking down on 95 days of summer vacation. 95 days. I’m letting that number sink in for a minute. Because in our house, all of the adults work. And the child does not. For 95 days. This creates an interesting challenge. And while I’m super down with not having to wrestle [...]

I love these ideas! I think hubby would get a kick out of some of those cookbooks. He loves to cook and he is wonderful at it. Thanks for the suggestions.
Do you know if InterCourses is available at borders or B&N? Cooking for your mate is by far the sexiest valentine's gift, so I'd need to score it well ahead of time if i'm going to cook.
HOW did you know I still have the sheets from my wedding registry?
does the book come with a babysitter? i mean, it should.
Great ideas, lady. I love cookbooks and chocolate and new sheets. My credit card, however, does not thank you for these great recommendations.
Hey thanks lady, great review and fantastic little gift guide! Cool Mom Picks is calling…calling… calling…
Intercourses looks like a great buy for the photo art alone. The photo of the grapes, now there's inspiration. And Booty Food sounds like an excellent combo of good food and good advice.
Both books sound so tempting. I need to get better at cooking first though. Thanks for the tips!
I love your teapot! And the Teavana website! I got into "ceremonial" tea while in Shanghai this summer and miss my pots and teas (all in storage now that we're in Ireland where tea is more like breathing than a ritual) Love the suggestions!
Jen stole my line this time.Gotta get here sooner.Oh, and, REALLY, about that babysitter…
Those look really great! I love to read cookbooks and these look like they will be an interesting read. You know EVERYONE!!
I have the 1st InterCourses cookbook and love, love, love it! I cook from it all the time. I did not know you were friends with Martha…very cool. Have a very Happy Valentine's Day!
Great ideas, but given my situation – useless. I'll archive them for future reference. Thanks GcQ!
Fabulous finds, my dear. But the chocolate? You really are the devil.
I am super picky about sheets. Mr. is very low maintenance and has totally changed his way of thinking when it comes to sheets. What interesting books, you've talked about here. Just in time for the day of luv.
Don't you just LOVE that Liz wrote a book on booty food? LOVE!
