Nautical blue and white, or red and white, horizontal stripes are so French aren’t they? We saw them all over France.
Check out baby June Blair here. She’s rocking the stripes. Looking very French in France.
So while we were climbing up Mont St. Michel, we passed a Saint James shop full of French stripes. I warned Gabby and James that we would be stopping here on the way back down, and that I would be spending a fair bit of money.
You see, it’s rare to see this many small Saint James stripes in one place. The Saint James Company was founded in Normandy, close to Mont Saint-Michel, in 1889, and their clothes are well made and super soft. The stores are mainly in France, but they do have a New York location at Madison and 79th. Here’s their website with seasonal collections. And they just recently made their clothes available online here. It’s still sorta hard to find the kids clothes though.
So I was ready to go.
You see, I have six nieces. And I like to buy clothes for these nieces. It’s my weakness.
I also bought this cute shirt for Harry. (It’s a “Robin Kid” by Mousqueton…you can get it here)
Because girls shouldn’t get all the great clothes.
But mostly, girls get all the great clothes.

LOVE THAT JUMPER!
GIrls so get all the good clothes, but these stripes Rock. Leave it to you Ms. Mayes to find rad boy clothes. Thank you my friend. Thank you.
I love the shot of you in the shop, surrounded by stripes.
The Saint James store on Madison is so orderly. It’s a stripey heaven. Alas, there are no kids clothes there.
When you’re in town I’ll take you there. It’s also a few doors down from a JCrew collection store and a few blocks away from Vosges, Jonathan Adler, Petit Bateau and Alexis Bittar. OMG i know all the shops exactly where they are. Not sure that’s a good thing.
It’s also right near the Met. That redeeming, right?
