It seems like everyone is getting back in the swing of things today, and I have to say I’m a bit conflicted about this.
In one way, I’m envious of all today’s action.
I love this first week of the year with all its possibility and resolve. The listmaking on clean slates. The getting back and looking forward. It’s great. And, the truth is, after weeks and weeks of celebrating life, I’m quite ready to focus on living it. To exacerbate this ready-to-go-ness, and in stark contrast to the business of merriment, I spent the final days of 2010 in the middle of nowhere, being extremely still and quiet. So a big part of me is beyond ready to make some noise and dive in to this new year Polar Bear Style. I’ve already made lists and charts and resolutions for revolutions that I’m definitely ready to put into action. But not yet.
Not today.
Today, we’re celebrating the 10th day of Christmas…and Harry’s last day of Winter Break… with some ice skating, ice cream and other ice merriment (including that damn Yogi Bear movie that I foolishly promised.) So all the serious resolve will have to wait.
Because we have one more day.

What a fun day! We had big changes afoot at our house today but we all made it out alive with little damage. Making it through the first day I hope is the easiest day of all!
