You know how I love the ice cream. And after Harry decided to have a Dr Pepper Birthday Party with lots of Dr Pepper Party Details, including a Dr Pepper Birthday Cake, my friend’s mom told me about this old school Texas super simple way to make Dr. Pepper ice cream. So let’s talk about that.
DR PEPPER ICE CREAM RECIPE
What You’ll Need:
8 0z of Dr Pepper
12 oz of Evaporated Milk
14 oz of Sweetened Condensed Milk
What You’ll Do:
I refrigerated these three items overnight. Then I opened them, put them into an ice cream maker, turned it on and let it run its course. (It’s that easy.) I use a Cuisinart ICE 21 and it takes about 20-30 minutes to run.
Seriously, this is the easiest ice cream recipe ever. That’s all you do.
Then I put the ice cream into small mason jars and stored them in the freezer until the party.
To be honest, this ice cream tasted amazing. And it was so easy. However, it never really got as hardened as I like ice cream to be…it was more soupy, old school homemade ice cream consistency. If you want a firmer outcome, I’d suggest doing the Coconut Water Ice Cream recipe I love and replacing the coconut water with Dr Pepper. I think that would be very nice. Although it involves more steps.
Again, and back to this recipe, I can’t express how easy this version is…and the result really tastes like a runny ice cream float…otherwise awesome.
And it goes great with Dr Pepper Cake.
