Curtis Stone is a Granola God.

Curtis Stone is a Granola God.

You may know that mornings are a whole nightmare thing around my house…for starters because they start so stupid early, but also because my child is the Gandhi of breakfast. Only he doesn’t quietly refuse to eat; he believes in protesting with volume. I hear that this is often a thing in other houses as well. Maybe yours. And for the sake of your soul, I really hope not. I wish you quiet calm before 7 a.m….as God and Gandhi intended it.

But until that day finds us (and as long as we’re experiencing grumpy, pre-dawn, hunger strikes), I’m looking for solutions. As evidenced here, where I very cheerfully ask cute Curtis Stone how to (painlessly) start off healthy in the morning.

And then cute Curtis responds with a rad homemade granola recipe.

I love that. And we’re going to try that granola this week.

Something else I love… I’m happy to announce a partnership between myself and the Vicks brand as it launches Vick’s Nature Fusion, a new line of over-the-counter cold, cough and flu relief products. The alcohol- and gluten-free line bodyslams symptoms with a sweet and natural kick. As evidenced above, Vick’s has partnered with Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone to produce a series of videos featuring bloggers asking questions about the challenges of serving up healthy foods. And let’s keep it real, Curtis is pretty easy on the eyes and ears, so it makes YouTube completely tolerable.

There will be more videos like this over the next several months…and I’ll share them, as well as my actual attempt to do them. Real life footage. It’s not going to be pretty, but it should be hilarious. You too will have the pleasure of Harry Mayes pre 6 a.m. And that’s the kind of love that needs to be experienced first hand. You’ll see.

I should revisit this page after my typical morning assault of breakfast requests, followed by post-breakfast snack needs from my three daughters. Any protest in my house is purely over who gets the next dish.

Of all the chefs on t.v. you picked the cutest. AND I love his granola recipe.

I’ll take Harry Mayes any time – even before 6 am!

  4. Very cute. We love granola around here. And we haven’t hit the 7 am mark yet either as the kids wake up way to early.

Hmmm the recipe sounds very yummy. I’ll have to make this the day before or something though. There’s no way in hell I’m going to add all that cooking and being awake stuff to my morning routine as it already is.
