Holy whoa, it’s September. You notice how no one really says that about any other month? But September marks the opportunity for a new start well over half way through. It’s brimming with the back-to-school, fresh-supplies, new-clothes types of possibilities. I love those possibilities. It also means alarm clocks, wake up calls and back to work. I love that too. And this is what that soundtrack sounds like to me this month.
You can just push play and listen along on 8Tracks below…or the Amazon songs are below that. Happy September.

I can’t stop listening to this SummerMash 13 by DJ Earworm. Have you heard it? It pulls together some of my favorites of the summer…and some that I’ve heard waaay to much. But that’s the thing about summer music. It’s typically as upbeat as it is overplayed. And decades later, every time I hear any [...]
Photo from Savoir Adore Last month, I saw Savoir Adore open for Sea Wolf on the small inside stage at Stubbs. There was a lot going on in that last sentence, so I’ll just give you a minute with that. I took at variety of terrible shots on my iPhone … oh and here’s one [...]
I had so much time to post this week. So much time. And so many things to put here. This week on my list…redoing the garden & talking about planting transitional and fall gardens (because that’s what we’re doing around here as we attempt to not die from heat death), posting a Shiner Bock beer [...]

Well, have I got the thing for you… Come to The Texas Margarita Mixer Saturday, March 9th Noon to 5 p.m. at Holy Mountain RSVP HERE. I’ll be there. With these fine folks… Sponsors: [...]
I’m completely scared of guns, firearms and almost all things related. But man, I love The Rifles. Tangled Up In Love is my current favorite. I could listen to this song all day. And of all days to do it, this is a good one. We could all do well being a bit tangled up [...]
(Photo by John Anderson, Austin Chronicle) I dare you (dare you) to listen to Bobby Jealousy’s Rainbow and not find yourself singing it throughout the day. Seriously. Go on. Consider yourself dared. This band is swell. Austin-based, and comprised of the fiercely entertaining Sabrina Ellis, Seth Gibbs, Mark Stoney and Clint Simmons, they were named one of [...]
I’ve been playing lots of Tennis lately. No, not the sport. That would be ridiculous. I’ve been playing the music from the band Tennis, made up of husband-and-wife duo Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley. You can listen to them here. Or watch this… I found that top photo here.
*UME photo from Beat Lawrence So 80 kabillion people are about to descend upon our city. And I couldn’t be more excited. I’m already filling my calendar with interesting parties (watch out, this blog is going to be filled with party shots and details over the next few weeks) and music too. Last year, I [...]
I’m ready for a lazy, low-key weekend. No big plans. I do want to clean the house, open the doors and turn up the music. And here’s what I’m listening to. Violens sound like 1983 to me. And I plan to listen to a lot of 1983 this weekend. Seriously. I feel like I’m in 7th [...]
