I realized the other day that we might need to make Christmas cards. (I’m a little slow.) So yesterday, Harry and I set about to getting on that. We’ll be finished by New Years. Possibly. (Check out other easy-to-do quick cards here).
The bathroom is still under construction and in the process of becoming something better. However, as it is still in-the-works, it is a bit of a mess. I can relate to my bathroom.
I love this photo. It features Jordan Ferney of Oh Happy Day, and it was taken sometime around the time we were creating these (and talking to each other 18 times a day) in preparation for the Kirtsy BlogHer Voices of the Year Gala. Gabby made a number of these talk bubbles for the party. [...]
Over the years, I’ve watched with delight as many of my favorite bloggers have been ranked in a variety of lists. I love these lists, perhaps for the same reason I love office supplies and The Container Store. They’re just neat. And even though I’d never been listed on any of them, whatever, I’ve never [...]

I'm Laura Mayes, a writer and one of the founders of Mighty Events & GoMighty, of the Mom 2.0 Summit, and of Kirtsy. Some things I've written have won an Emmy. Other things are in Kirtsy Takes a Bow. And a whole lot of others are right here where you've landed. Welcome. Any questions?

And whenever this race happens, once a year, this is what my family does. We sit on the dock and root for the rowers. I missed this year because I was in [...]
Alright, we’re declaring it. It’s the Summer of the Spritzer, y’all. Get ready… and go. Last year was the Summer of the Shandy, and that was awesome, but this year we’re swapping out the beer for wine to shake things up a little. Obviously, all the cool kids are doing it, so there’s that. But more [...]
It seems that something called Blog con Queso should have a Top Queso List…so here’s my Best Queso in Austin roundup. This list changes sometimes, but these seem to always end up on top. If you’re in Austin, and you’re craving some queso, here are my Top 5…in current order. 1. Bob Armstrong Dip [...]
Image source We are looking down on 95 days of summer vacation. 95 days. I’m letting that number sink in for a minute. Because in our house, all of the adults work. And the child does not. For 95 days. This creates an interesting challenge. And while I’m super down with not having to wrestle [...]
