Signs Of Summer

Signs Of Summer

It’s beginning to look a lot like summer around here. And my sink is filling up with the first signs.

However, the garden looks ridiculous and kind of pathetic.  It’s growing like a bad trend although I have abandoned it so. And holy cow, the kale, it will not die…it’s overachieving, holding out and holding on. I’m going to pull all that out this weekend and make 80 pounds of final kale chips. Please come to my house to pick up piles of kale chips.

But the squash blossoms are blooming.

And there are like 12 kinds of peppers mixed in there between the crazy weeds. It’s a party. And I need to clean this place up. I also need to find 27 recipes that call for lots of peppers. It’s going to be a hot summer.

Amy’s has Cajeta ice cream again, so that’s happening. This summer, I’m going to learn how to make Cajeta.  Oh yes I am.

The Boy Scouts voted for equality, and any vote for equality is a good vote. I’m not sure this is a sign of summer, but it’s definitely a good sign. Harry’s godfather The Padrino Ken and I talked talked about it here.

And yesterday, I dropped off a first grader.

Some things happened.

And he ran out of there a second grader.

Summer’s here, y’all.

Let’s do this.
