I dare you (dare you) to listen to Bobby Jealousy’s Rainbow and not find yourself singing it throughout the day. Seriously. Go on. Consider yourself dared.
I met Brene’ four years ago through a mutual friend in Houston. We went to lunch. I asked her about what she was daring to dream…what she really wanted to do. Without skipping a beat, she said, “Speak at TED,” as nonchalantly as I’d say, “Brush my teeth.” Just like that. She put it out there. Boldly. Bravely. Ballsy. I thought, “Awesome, good luck with that. I want to be an astronaut ballerina.” But then, a couple of years later she did this (and 6 million people watched), and then this year, she closed TED to a standing ovation.
We are celebrating Harry’s 2,555 days here on the Earth (and seventh birthday) with an Olympic party. We threw around a lot of ideas for a birthday party this year, but, in the end, a jumpapalooza at the local jumping joint won his heart and won the day. It was epic.
It’s football season around here…even though it’s still triple digit degrees…so, to fake myself out, I made some football chili that isn’t really hot. In fact, it’s kind of summery. See what I did there? Best of both worlds, y’all.
