It was extra hot and beachy at the beach today, so we went to the Texas State Aquarium. If you’re ever in the Corpus Christi area, I highly recommend this. Lots of great sea life…and 3 hours of air conditioned bliss. My niece Harper really enjoyed it. And then we had fish for dinner.
We were a bit concerned about tropical storm Don and what havoc he’d bring to our vacation… But as things turned out, it was worry not well spent. Because besides bringing so funnest waves ever yesterday (that Harry and Hannah and I ATTACKED!), Don was pretty much a dud. He brought no drama. He brought […]
We’re at the beach this weekend with my family…my extended family…and my mom mandated that each night one kid is in charge of dinner. I should note, when my mom says “kids” she’s referring to the 30-40 year olds in our crew. Because we’ll always be kids. Etc. The we’ll-always-be-kids kids see this as an […]
The heat around here is dumb. Double dumb. Triple-digit dumb. I was counting the number of days that we’ve been above 100, but somewhere around 35, I had a heatstroke and forgot what number we were on. Ooooo! Can’t wait until we have that cold front on Saturday! So, we thought, I know! Let’s go […]
The people on the right side of this photo are my siblings. That’s me on the left. This is us circa 1981. And this weekend, 30 years later, we’re all at the same beach with all of our kids. Us plus five. Wouldn’t it be fun to re-enact this shot? I sorta doubt that’s going […]
I can’t stop listening to The Civil Wars. This is what my house sounds like.
While we were launching the new Kirtsy today, Harry and I were playing soccer. At the same time. During time outs, injury stoppage time, and quarters, I’d attend to Kirtsy things. His team won, by the way.
So, as I’ve mentioned like 200 times, it’s hot here. Dumb hot. And, as a result, my garden is super sad. I was feeling all failurey about this, and whining about my garden failure on twitter, when my hero Gayla Trail assured me that it was impossible to grow anything in the middle of a […]
You know how we’ve been talking about reworking Kirtsy for 2 years? Yeah. Well, we finally finished it! Bam! Only took us 700 days! Funny thing, this is the third site we’ve concepted and started developing over these last 700 days. And in that time frame, the new Kirtsy has had three very different looks […]
We went camping this weekend. I can now check that off the list. I have a lot of things to say about this adventure. But really, this photo should convey at least 1,000 words of it. To sum up: Camping is for the birds. Big birds, ready to party.
