So Many Lovely Images To Share
Last night's event in Houston was so beautiful. Not just because of the space or the beverages or the food. Although, they were all amazing. But because of the people. There were sooo many contributing authors in attendance, including the woman who in my mind made some of the very biggest contributions, designer Kris Kleis (above). The book design was concepted by a woman named Wyn Bomar, but it was meticulously and artfully executed by Kris. I can't tell you how many crazed phone calls, emails, office sessions, and home visits this woman tolerated from me. And I have no idea how many hours we sat at her table pouring over each page. She was my calm in this. And she is responsible for its beauty.Lucy Chambers and Ellen Cregan of Bright Sky Press were there too. They are the two women who made the Kirtsy book happen. It was their idea from the beginning, and they birthed this child. Lucy had the crazy idea that it would be groundbreaking to introduce the online world to many in a medium that looked somewhat like a magazine. I agreed. And here we are.
And as I sit here, 30,000 feet in the air (Dude, I'm currently typing IN THE SKY on an airplane...well done, Air Tran and your wifi in the sky!) There are so many images running through my head from last night. So many images on my camera I can't download now because I left my camera battery charging in my kitchen in Houston. Drat. (When I do get to DC, I will find another one and download away.) But for now, I'm stealing Karen's.
