Not to put too fine a point on it.

We've been listening to a whole lot of They Might Be Giants recently. Which reminds me of my freshman year in college. When I spent a whole lot of time doing much the same thing.

Only back then, the giants that they might be weren't doing free podcasts of kids songs...songs like Zeros that the Hurricane likes to sing loudly in falsetto...(yes, a two-year-old falsetto, scientists in my home have discovered that there is such a thing.)

Because back then, they weren't singing the modern-day versions of School House Rock tunes. Or were they? Actually, the more I think about it, they could have been doing that the whole time. Well, that's something to consider today. And while you're at it, keep the nightlight on inside the birdhouse in your soul.

I always keep a nightlight on in the little birdhouse in my soul. That is how I can see what it was like to live at The Centre, wear my Pi Phi jersey, and drink wine coolers.

I had a CD called SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK ROCKS! with songs covered by Pavement, the Lemonheads, etc. Not to be redundant, but...it rocks!

Love TMBGs...even saw them my freshman year (had to drive to Austin of course) and they were really cool, nice guys.
I too grooved to Schoolhouse Rocks Rocks! It is a must get, but the originals also rock in their own 1970's awesome way. (I even bought all the video compilations at Drug Emporium when I was at Baylor) Yes, SZ isn't the only nerd in the family.

Awesome. I've semi-recently blogged about my favorite TMBG find and also Schoolhouse Rock! Actually both were last June, which is kind of odd.

After I found that TMBG video I bought my 7 year old The Spine because he also loves Experimental Film as we discovered while watching our Homestar Runner DVDs.

Good stuff.

Barenaked Ladies will be releasing their first kiddie album (do people still say album?) in May. I am prepared to love it. - Em

Ok...came over here from Julie's and I haven't done that before because?

I, apparently, am an idiot.

Between you and Julie, I just may have to move back to Houston, but then that means exposing myself to toxic chemicals and that just won't do.

But TMBG are totally awesome. The second song we played at my wedding was Triangle Man.

And I just got the Schoolhouse Rock DVD. Big.Fun.
