My Yearly Paige Turner Sighting
About this time each year, I remember my old friend Paige Turner.Because it's usually right aroud the time, I start to spend my days lounging by the ocean, working on my tan. Drinking fancy fruity drinks and reading the day away. Oh the life. Oh the luxury. Oh who am I kidding. I spend my beach days three steps behind the Hurricane making sure he doesn't eat seven pounds of sand, pull down his pants to pee on some kid's sandcastle, or get hauled off by that creepy guy with the metal detector.
However, if my name were Paige Turner, I'd be lounging like a mofo. And if my name were Paige Turner, this is what I'd recommend.

I haven't started SUITE FRANCAIS but plan to this week or next! Of course, I love anything by Jane Green (JEMIMA J is still my fave) and am currently reading her SWAPPING LIVES.
LIGHTNESS OF BEING?! Truly UNBEARABLE. Tell Paige I will pass on a re-read.
Do you think you will get another author drop-in like last summer?!
Ooo let's hope!
will i do? (even though i'm in disguise)

I don't have a very ambitious summer reading list this year. I don't know if I have enough time to read the new Harry Potter before BlogHer or if I'll have to bring it on the plane. It used to be easier to set aside time and get to enjoy it in one crazy day and night. ;)
LOL - Okay keeping our kids from drinking their fruity drinks is more like it. ;)
Love the post! I am headed to the beach with my son for the first time!! Little nervous now.. but thanks for the book rec. Maybe I will have time to pick one up?
Rivergirlie, you have to tell us what book you wrote so that we can read it and gush about it to all and sundry. That's how we do!
Good book lists are always hard to find - thanks for a great one!
Eat, Pray, Love looks interesting. I have a summertime tradition of reading books about food while I am chilling out on the beach.
Just finished Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picolut. Every parent should read this book. Love your blog.
A Thousand Splendid Suns was touching and haunting and sad. Not great literature, per se, but a well-told, heart-wrenching story.
Oh the days of SPF 4. I haven't seen that one in quite a while. I guess People magazine registers in the baby oil and iodine catagory? What a fun post.
Don't miss, if you haven't read.. Team Of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin.. an amazing book to read in the year before Spielburg's new Lincoln film comes out.
what a fun blog! Love your list, great suggestions!
