Do You Hear What I Hear?

Now that I'm reformed and relaxed and again enjoying the holiday season, I thought I'd share one of the iMixes I made over the busy weekend.

I love discovering what different traditions and memories each of us brings into the season. I'm constantly remembering new ones as the HcQ recounts his and we begin to establish our own.

And I'm finding that most of mine are set to the soundtracks of Elvis and John Denver & The Muppets.

My favorite Christmas albums are by Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow.

Who are both Jewish. *head scratch*

Quality iMix, except you left off Dominick the Donkey by Lou Monte. (I'm angry with iTunes for making that an album only purchase) Looking through this and your other mixes we like a lot of the same music (I'm seeing songs and CDs I have in all of them). Well done, GcQ, well done.

I had that Alvin and the Chipmunks album! It was my moms when she was a kid. I loved that damn record.

(And - it goes without say - the John Denver Muppets Christmas Album was a staple.)

I love that! Each year we make a cd of christmas songs and send it to our nearest and dearest. It is a mixture of Alving and the Chipmonks to punk coveres of Christmas songs. :-) IN the days BERFORE iTunes, it was really cool. Now we are just giving music to people who didn't pay for it...

I LOVE your iMixes... time to download some...

Well, um, sure, I guess your iMix is fine . . . if you like that kind of stuff. But, as you can see from my own Christmas favorites, I'm really much more of a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas music.

Also, way to throw in the off-hand HcQ reference. Very casual and yet, so sneaky.

I need a Josh Groban Christmas album like, yesterday. TV Family Christmas, Beach Boys Christmas, Mahalia Jackson, Johny Mathis, Perry Como...all of them are fab!!

Okay, except the one with the cast of Bonanza singing, "Merry Christmas Neighbor."

I have been listening to my FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS CD today...getting into the Hanukkah spirit! I wonder what Matt Damon is listening to...GcQ, care to enlighten us?!

Last year I linked to a chipmunks song! My brother and cousins and I used to do talent shows every Christmas to the Chipmunks' album. Haha!!

I have never even heard of a John Denver and The Muppets collaboration?! I feel so isolated...like I just found out that I grew up in communist-era Romania!

It's not Christmas unless Alvin and the Chipmunks are playing. We had the LP as kids, and now I have the CD.

"I still want a hula-hoop!"

Don't forget about our Christmas in America record kicking it on the record player on Parkview drive!

I just popped over from Amalah's Mom's Daily Dose at ClubMom, and quite frankly, I haven't read your blog yet. I did, however, snoop in your profile. And the fact that you list The Samples as favorite music? Makes you my new best friend.

We got the Veggie Tales Christmas CD a couple years ago for Kai, and I think I like it more than he does. :) It's very entertaining...

Keith is MASSIVELY nostalgic about the Chipmunks Christmas music. I'm afraid I missed out on that one.

Bloody Australian I-choons won't let me listen.

The sadness.
